The 19th Annual Cattlemen’s Western Art Show and Sale was presented by the San Luis Obispo County Cattlemen’s Association from March 27 to March 29 at the Paso Robles Event Center (Mid-State Fairgrounds) in Paso Robles, California.
The show opened with a wine and hors d’oeuvres artist reception Friday evening. Sixty extremely talented professional western artists were present all weekend to meet and talk with the public during the show hours. Each artist exhibited original work never before displayed at the show. Respected as a major central California cultural event, the Cattlemen’s Western Art Show and Sale is well attended by returning buyers and avid art lovers eager to purchase original work.
The featured artist for 2009 was the talented sculptor Bill Nebeker. A member of the Cowboy Artists of America since 1978, he is also in his third term as president of that organization. Best known for his detailed, accurate and dignified portrayals of the working cowboy and ranching life, he also authentically sculpts Native Americans with their tribal clothing and weapons.
The featured artist for the 2010 show will be Western painter Bob Coronato.
