    Happy Horses of Hildred Goodwine
"Few artists have brought forth the soul of the horse in the inimitable manner of Hildred Goodwine." - Ed P. Trumble
    Founder & Chairman
    Leanin' Tree Inc.

The delightful paintings of artist Hildred Goodwine are familiar to many horse people and her images have appeared on numerous Leanin' Tree greeting cards. This book is a collection of some of Goodwine's well-known and never-seen paintings created over a span of 40 years. She was adept at presenting the horse in amusing and gently appealing situations. Goodwine has been likened as the Norman Rockwell of horses. She was inducted as Honoree into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, and honored by Cowboy Artists of America with the Heritage Award.

Hildred Goodwine's dear friend Barbara Robinson wrote her biography that winds its way through the collection of 140 images of her paintings that appear in the book that's a tribute to the artist, Happy Horses of H. Goodwine. Robinson shares stories and insights about Goodwine and tells of her love, hardships and determination as she struggled to become known as an artist.

Ed Trumble, Founder and Chairman of Leanin' Tree Inc. who personally knew and worked with Goodwine wrote the introduction. He writes, "Her paintings and sculptures of various animals have delighted her viewers for forty years, but her unique depiction of the horse with variations of breed, color and genius is what earned her a fond reputation among the multitudes who have seen her work."

In the book is a verse written by Hildred Goodwine: "The animals I love the best?" She pondered for a spell. "I'm madly fond of horses! Don't say you couldn't tell!"
      - H. Goodwine
